As part of the recent structural changes to strengthen strategy execution to drive growth and profitability, Ericsson in Region Middle East announced new appointments to its Leadership Team bringing Network and Technology leaders to serve its customers in the region.
The following members assumed the following responsibility as of July 1, 2016:
Isil Yalcin is appointed Head of Network Products for Ericsson, Region Middle East.
Chafic Traboulsi is appointed Head of Network Services for Ericsson, Region Middle East.
Teemu Salmi is appointed Head of IT & Cloud for Ericsson, Region Middle East.
Commenting on the announcement, Rafiah Ibrahim, President of Ericsson Region Middle East and Africa said: “These appointments will enable us to continue adding value to our customers and drive their transformation agenda.”

About Isil Yalcin
Isil Yalcin held a number of senior positions within Ericsson, where she has been working for over 20 years. Isil’s most recent positions within the organization were VP, Head of Radio Access Network (RAN) for the Middle East and Africa region, VP of Networks in Turkey & Palestine as well as Core Network Rollout Manager.
In November 2012, Yalcin moved to Egypt after she was appointed as Head of Ericsson Customer Unit North East Africa where she was responsible for overseeing the company’s activities in Egypt, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan and South Sudan. In January 2016, Yalcin moved back to Ericsson Turkey as she was appointed as Head of Strategic Programs within Ericsson Region Middle East.
Yalcin holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and Masters of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University. She is fluent in English, Bulgarian, Turkish and Russian.
About Chafic Traboulsi
Chafic Traboulsi started his career in Ericsson in 2003 as a Delivery Manager in Ericsson Canada. In 2005, he moved to Ericsson Algeria as Services Account Manager and in 2006 he moved to Egypt making his way up as Key Account Manager in November 2008. Traboulsi continued his journey in Ericsson taking on several senior positions in different locations including Cambodia, Philippines and Qatar where he was appointed as Ericsson’s Regional VP and Head of Global Customer Unit for the Ooredoo Group.
Traboulsi holds an Engineering degree from Université de Montréal – École Polytechnique de Montréal in Canada.
About Teemu Salmi
After graduating from the Dalarna University in Sweden with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Information Technology, Teemu Salmi joined Cap Gemini as a Project Manager and IT Consultant. Salmi spent 4 years at Cap Gemini before joining the Ericsson group in 1999. Since then, Salmi spent 11 years within the Ericsson IT organization holding different senior leadership positions, ending up with being the Head of all IT Service Delivery within the Group. As Head of IT Service Delivery, Salmi had the responsibility for all IT service delivery, including product management, operations and vendor relations.
Later, Salmi held the position as head of customer support services within the Ericsson Group. In this role, he was responsible for securing profitable growth in the business segment and at the same time securing customer satisfaction for Ericsson’s customers worldwide.
In October 2013, Salmi was appointed as Head of Operations within Region Middle East and North-East Africa, holding the accountability of Ericsson’s service and supply delivery as well as end-to-end delivery of all services Ericsson offers to its customers.
