Yesterday Google launched Google Play Family Library, which allows up to six family members to share purchased apps. Our Developer Distribution Agreement (“DDA”) was also updated to support this service.
In order to provide a seamless user experience, make sure you allow your customers to share purchases made prior to the DDA update effective date (July 2nd, 2016) if you haven’t already. Users can now see whether previous purchases of your app are eligible for Family Library on your store listing page.
To allow sharing of previous purchases:
- Sign in to your Google Play Developer Console.
- Select an app.
- On the left side, select the Pricing & Distribution page.
- In the “Family Library” section, check the box.
