Ericsson has announced the appointment of Mohamad Dergham as Head of Global Customer Unit (GCU) Ooredoo and Customer Unit North Middle East (NME) within Ericsson Region Middle East and East Africa as of July 1st, 2016.
Dergham will have direct responsibility for GCU Ooredoo Key Accounts in Kuwait, Oman and Qatar as well as Key Accounts in the NME Customer Unit, which will include Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Afghanistan.
Mohamad Dergham’s career with Ericsson began in Lebanon in 1998, where he served as head of the technical team in Region Middle East. He has performed Business Development and Sales activities in different countries across the region including several responsibilities in New and Key accounts in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Jordan and Iraq. Later in 2011, he was assigned as Country Manager for Ericsson in Iraq. Dergham has been heading Customer Unit North Middle East region (Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, Afghanistan and Syria) since January 2015.
Prior to joining Ericsson, Dergham worked for several companies in the US in the field of HW/SW designs and Cell Planning and Optimization services. He led and designed many of the networks in the US and Canada.
Dergham attended The George Washington University where he earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a major in Telecom and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
Commenting on the announcement, Rafiah Ibrahim, Head of Ericsson Region Middle East and Africa said: “Today’s appointments will enable us to continue adding value to our customers and drive their transformation agenda.”
